    The bell siphon is officially dead! Been running two of these drop siphons for a couple months now and they run flawlessly. Great design Rob! The only drawback is that I'm using hydroton as a grow media and the smaller pebbles fall through the gravel guard and jam under the siphon cup. This issue has decreased as the smaller pebbles next to the gravel guard have been getting removed and larger ones back filled behind them. When I do yearly maintenance I'll probably build a sifter larger than the gravel guard holes and pack the larger diameter hydroton around the guard.

    Titan flail mowers are total junk. I went through two of them. I literally had the roller fall off because the way it is mounted is not rugged. I also had the 3 point lift mechanism break. Cheap price but poor quality and zero parts availability. There are considerably better ‘value’ brands for just a little more money.

    Next time you cut holes, drill you corners out, that way it leaves rhe corners rounded, so that as heat expands and contracts it wont start cracking in one or more corners.

    The problem I have with my trap is that chipmunks do not weigh very much and when they step on the trap floor and does not always trigger it to shut the door, I guess I guess to try to play with it to make the safety loser ? Anyone else have that issue?

    You should try to angle grade the soil outside by the GH Frame to shed ground/surface water away from the frame and also invest in a rainwater catchment system by installing lightweight gutters to catch the rainwater off of your GH Fabric on the sides, you can control up to 90% of what can even get inside the GH from under the floor and have the added benefit of usable irrigation water. I Have two 1500 water tanks that i use to pump water that is caught in 55 gallon barrels into and use the water directly in every other day watering of plants thru drip tape to my long rows of plant pots. Although i gave up on aquaculture because of the fish food prices, i still have large reserves of free water so i can take a large percentage of pressure off of my freshwater wells.

    • @Bigelowbrook
      @Bigelowbrook Місяць тому

      For us, it's just cheaper to use well water vs installing rain catchment systems. Once we dig a few feet down, we usually hit bedrock or boulders that are too large to move. When I built the greenhouse, I priced out rain catchment and I could drill a few wells for the same cost, plus I don't have to worry about decontaminating the rain water.

    Before laser levels we used a long clear water hose to install overhead ocranes, unlike laser levels you could go around corners, ironically your quality check of the laser level was using an really old times technique. It good to see another video thanks 👍.

    What is the brand of the metal trap? I have one but mine is designed with close to 1 inch metal squares yours looks like rectangles. The gound squirrel literally bolted thru one of the squares at the closed end. Flattened itself out like a mouse. Was totally pissed and shocked it could even get that squished. I waited 20 min for the darn thing to come out of the downspout into the cage.

    why worry about putting the sludge back in? just feeding the fish reintroduces whatever minerals you take out during cleaning doesn't it?

    • @Bigelowbrook
      @Bigelowbrook Місяць тому

      Most of the trace minerals are still in the sludge. If you can break it down it's far better for the system.

  • @ryteulopki8069
    @ryteulopki8069 Місяць тому

    What about combustion chamber being enclosed within barrel filled with water? Then a grafity fed piping system would store hot water in elevated container for later use? Small electric pump would circulate water through fool heating system. Is it just me coming with this idea or has it been done already? Whole idea of rocket heater is to generate a lot of heat in short period of time, therefore there is a need for a mass to capture this heat and store it for later use. Water seems to be best for it.

    I just got a Titan flail mower that i traded for doing a brush hogging job. It needs a roller and apparently some hammers. I haven't had a chance to look closer at it. My problem is, where do I get parts? I've looked on line and can't seem to find any dealers. I have heard that the dealers are more centrally located in the country. I don't care where the dealers are that's why we have FedEx or UPS. Anybody know where I can go? If it matters, I'm in upstate NY.

    I'm heavily considering a flail for my Kubota L2501 and Titan so far, is high on my list. Primary due to price, the ability to articulate and offset mower, and the capability to work with my tractor. I already have a rotary. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video as I always do research on potential items I'm looking to buy. I agree the roller is set to low. If I brought this unit, I would modify and adjust the roller for more clearance. I would also use a zero-turn or a finish mower if I wanted to get the grass cut that low. The Titan at $4000 and the equivalent Maschio 4047 at $5500, I'd rather save the money and get the Titan.

    looks nice . do not down size the piping . instead upsize it . if the pump calls for an inch and a half go to two inch . this will give you more flow . instead of ending the piping connect all end so they continue. this will allow you to use less pumps and get more flow per pump used .
